=============================
Once upon a time, there was a young couple who received a toaster for a housewarming gift. Now this toaster was the perfect gift for this couple because they were crazy about toast. Toast for breakfast, toast for lunch and toast for supper.
The toaster served this young couple well. Everyday, it served up deliciously perfect toast, which the couple relished with butter, jam and even garlic spread. Occasionally, they toasted bagels as a treat.
Two months passed. One warm night, Husband slot in 2 pieces of wholemeal bread into the toaster, as he sometimes does when he needs supper. However, this time, instead of 2 slices of beautiful toast, he saw a spark leap out of the toaster and that was the end of the young couple's toast dreams. The toaster had died a premature death.
The young couple mourned the death of the toaster and placed it back into the original package it came in, hoping that somehow, the toaster will return to life. In the meantime, Husband and Wife searched for a new toaster, but none could replace the one that died.
Eventually, they found another toaster which they thought could fill the void in their lives. However, Wife felt that the time wasn't right for a replacement, and asked Husband not to buy one first.
Then, quite some time ago (about yesterday), the young couple's housing agent came a-knocking, saying that he had a Christmas gift for the young couple. The young couple looked at the gift, which came in a big box with appreciation and excitement. What could be inside the box?
As Husband peeled away the layers of wrapping paper, suspense mounted. As Wife was in the toilet, she heard Husband yell, "Dear! Guess what it is!"
A moment of pregnant silence passed before Wife shouted, "It's a... TOASTER!".
Husband replied, "Yes!! And it's the exact one we wanted to buy!!"
And the young couple praised God.
And you might have guessed... the young couple is none other than...... the Hengs!
*Thought you might like to share our joy....... * :)
2 things we learnt from this experience:
1. God provides!
2. Don't buy Philips toasters!
